چکیده

The electrochemical properties of the (PCP)Rh(H2) (1-H2, PCP 1⁄4 k-C6H3e2,6-(CH2P(Bu2)) complex was examined by cyclic voltammetry in acetonitrile (MeCN), dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) and 1,2difluorobenzene (1,2-DFB). Upon oxidation in weakly or non-coordinating media such as 0.05 M NaBAr24 in 1,2-difluorobenzene, simple one electron oxidation to [(PCP)RhII(H2)]þ is observed. Conversely, in coordinating solvents (e.g. acetonitrile and dimethylsulfoxide) the reactivity is dominated by solvent coordinated species with a slight variation in the RhIII/II oxidation potentials as a function of the supporting electrolyte conductivity. A computational analysis of these reactions in support of the proposed mechanism is presented. 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Elucidation of the resting state of a rhodium NNN-pincer hydrogenation catalyst that features a remarkably upfield hydride (1)H NMR chemical shift.

Rhodium(I) alkene complexes of an NNN-pincer ligand catalyze the hydrogenation of alkenes, including ethylene. The terminal or resting state of the catalyst, which exhibits an unprecedentedly upfield Rh-hydride (1)H NMR chemical shift, has been isolated and a synthetic cycle for regenerating the catalytically active species has been established.

Rhodium diphosphite pincer complexes. Rare preferred in-plane olefin conformation in square-planar compounds.

Square-planar ethylene rhodium derivatives bearing pincer diphosphite ligands have been prepared and characterized, they display a rare in-plane coordination which, based on DFT calculations, has been mainly attributed to steric effects.

Synthesis and reactivity of rhodium and iridium alkene, alkyl and silyl complexes supported by a phenyl-substituted PNP pincer ligand.

New rhodium and iridium complexes supported by the phenyl-substituted PNP pincer ligand PNPPhH (HN(2-PPh2-4-Me-C6H3)2) (1) were synthesized. The reaction of 2 equiv. of 1 with [(COD)IrCl]2 afforded the coordination complex [(PNPPhH)Ir(COD)]Cl (2) featuring hydrogen bonding between the N–H group and the chloride anion, as characterized by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. Reaction of 1...

Electrocatalytic Azide Oxidation Mediated by a Rh(PNP) Pincer Complex

One-electron oxidation of the rhodium(I) azido complex [Rh(N3 )(PNP)] (5), bearing the neutral, pyridine-based PNP ligand 2,6-bis(di-tert-butylphosphinomethyl)pyridine, leads to instantaneous and selective formation of the mononuclear rhodium(I) dinitrogen complex [Rh(N2 )(PNP)]+ (9+ ). Interestingly, complex 5 also acts as a catalyst for electrochemical N3- oxidation (Ep ≈-0.23 V vs. Fc+/0 ) i...

With a view to use as carbene transfer agents, well-defined silver(i) and copper(i) complexes of a macrocyclic NHC-based pincer ligand, bearing a central lutidine donor and a dodecamethylene spacer [CNC-(CH2)12, 1], have been prepared. Although the silver adduct is characterised by X-ray diffraction as a dinuclear species anti-[Ag(μ-1)]2(2+), variable temperature measurements indicate dynamic s...
